Building brand visibility and strategic momentum

Wellstarter
2026

Wellstarter AS is a Norwegian technology company based in Trondheim. Their technology delivers permanent downhole monitoring solutions that provide long-term insight into well performance.

As the company gained commercial traction, it needed a stronger market position, one that communicated the value it creates, not simply the technology it provides.

Brief

Wellstarter’s existing communications focused largely on its monitoring technology. However, the real value for operators lies in the answers generated from the data: a clearer understanding of flow and well performance over time. Our brief was to reposition Wellstarter as an answer company, supported by new messaging and a distinctive visual identity. With an exhibition stand already booked for ONS 2026, the event provided a natural deadline and launch platform for the refreshed brand.
Approach

We began by reviewing how the company talked about their technology, audiences and the challenges it helps operators solve. From there, we developed a clear positioning communication framework and messaging hierarchy that could work across different channels and levels of technical detail.

At the heart of the new brand is the tagline: “Make sense of the flow.” It captures Wellstarter’s role in measuring downhole temperature and interpreting the resulting data to provide a clearer understanding of flow and well performance over time. It turns a complex technical process into a simple, memorable expression of customer value.

The messaging strategy then informed the visual identity. Following a review of the competitive landscape we developed a distinctive colour palette and graphic language. that gave Wellstarter a fresher, more contemporary presence while retaining the technical credibility needed in the energy industry.

Together, the messaging and visual elements created a flexible brand system that could be applied consistently across digital, print and physical environments.

The website formed an important part of the rollout, with the project structured in two phases.

Outcome

Wellstarter launched its refreshed brand, messaging, and digital presence at ONS 2026. Whether someone encountered the companywebsite, LinkedIn, a presentation or face-to-face, they experienced the same brand and clear story.

For the launch we delivered:

  • Comprehensive brand guidelines, for internal and 3rd party use
  • A new website with a focused homepage and insights section which operate as the foundation for the wider Phase 2 website development.
  • Presentation and document templates, business cards, email signatures and a company flyer
  • Social media banners and templates
  • A brand led 3×3 exhibition presence at ONS
  • On-screen video content introducing the company and its new positioning

The project has given Wellstarter a strong foundation for future marketing and business development, with the next phase of the website planned for later in the year.
