A new website for a global downhole technology leader

Fox Subsea required a modern, user-friendly website that would reflect their strong brand and global ambitions.

Brief

Fox Subsea specialize in the rental supply of modular subsea control systems for the installation and testing of subsea Christmas trees. Their technology reduces rig days, lowers the number of personnel offshore, and helps operators cut operating costs. A key advantage is the modularity of every system, allowing fast mobilization and bespoke configuration for each project.

The previous website, created internally in 2021, no longer reflected the company they had become. Since then, Fox Subsea had expanded its fleet, established new partnerships, and achieved greater market presence. The old site felt dated, and lacked the visual quality and clarity of communication expected by today’s customers.

Fox Subsea needed a new website that:

•  Presented a simple, modern, professional brand
•  Matched the standard of their presence at exhibitions
•  Clearly communicated customer value and differentiation
•  Offered intuitive navigation and a smooth user experience

Approach:

Alongside the Fox Subsea team, we began with a full review to understand their goals and what the new website needed to achieve. From this, three priorities were identified:

  1. A simple, modern, user-friendly design that accurately reflected Fox Subsea’s identity.
  2. Messaging that moved beyond technical details and focused on customer value, benefits, and real-world impact.
  3. A user-centric structure that delivered a clean, intuitive browsing experience.

To develop clear, value-led content, we conducted one-to-one interviews with key department leaders to capture the essence of the company, its people, and its technology. The resulting website copy blends technical credibility with accessible, benefit-driven messaging.

Visual improvements included new renders, fresh people-led photography, and refined imagery to create a professional, high-impact look. Existing animation assets were integrated to help visitors understand the capabilities of the MODFOX system, and the modular nature of the product line.

Outcome

The new Fox Subsea website provides a confident, modern digital platform that reflects their position as a global subsea innovator. It communicates their value proposition clearly, showcases their technology with impact, and delivers an improved user experience.
